Description
Corn silk is a the shiny, thread-like, weak fibers that grow as part of ears of corn.

It has a delightfully earthy, sweet flavor, caffeine free.
Indications for use:
Corn silk is widely used and for treating following diseases:
- pancreatitis
- cholecystitis
- hepatitis
- bile ducts (cholangitis)
- dyskinesia of the biliary tract
- kidney stones, inflammation of the urinary tract
- infertility, uterine bleeding, menstrual pain
- diabetes
- joint diseases
- anemia
- menopause
- glaucoma
- chest pain
- gastrointestinal disorders
Due to its diuretic properties, corn silk is useful for the removal of accumulated fluid from the body.
Corn silk is a highly effective prevention of cholelithiasis and cholecystitis.
Weight Management: corn silk is effective in preventing adipogenesis- the formation of fat cells and speeds up lipolysis – the breakdown of fat cells. Experimental studies have shown positive results in weight loss and hence better health.
Directions: steep 1-2 teaspoons in a teacup of hot water for 10 min. Do not take more than 3 cups a day.
Contraindications:
Overuse may lead to palpitations and hypoglycemia.
Pregnant and lactating mothers must avoid it.
